With bones and cartilage starting to form and vital organs beginning to function, baby is making major progress. Body length will almost double in the next three weeks, and arm joints are now working. (Soon, legs will too.)
Awww...
OMG I am more than a lil' ready to hit the miraculous 12 weeks mark. Times were all in black & white and people lived in caves when I was pregnant with Belle. Oh, I was also freakin' 22 and had nothing better to do than read baby books, go to the mall and sleep after work. I guess my point is that I DO NOT REMEMBER BEING THIS TIRED the first time around. Seriously! I must have thought other preggos were making up this insane amount of tiredness during the first trimester because I certainly wasn't expecting it. Granted, hello I do know the tiredness gets worse after the baby arrives :) I haven't forgotten that part! Right now, though, the thought of walking to the car and driving is really too much, let alone working out or doing my beloved yoga! I'm guessing it's a combination of being so much older (ugh) and running Belle here, there and everywhere, arguing with her about bedtimes, playdates and whatnot that really drains a preggo! :)
I don't have too many weird cravings except at night before bed I die for fruit (esp. raspberries and raspberry-flavored stuff). It's soooooo weird. I'm a vegetarian and while I do like fruit, I kind of like to live on non-healthy vegetarian items (i.e. chips, rice cakes, gardenburgers, cereal, etc). Right now, I cannot even live without raspberries at night or blackberries or strawberries. The thought of my fridge being fruitless is something I just cannot deal with right now. LOL. Anyone who knows me knows this is not my style. I HATE going to the grocery store with a passion! But tonight I did go...impromptu...in my pajamas! I drove into town to pick up Belle's script via the DRIVE-THRU. That's when I remembered I had no godforesaken raspberries! So I said screw it and rocked the jam's into HY-VEE. This might not sound horrible to you but you also don't know what I was wearing: Pink Cubs fleect over a white t-shirt, purple and green striped Karen Neuberger (spell?) pants and bright yellow suede loafers. I'M NOT KIDDING AND I'M DYING JUST THINKING OF IT (now that I've eaten an entire carton of raspberries). This just goes to show that preggo raspberry cravings must be fed, regardless of the associated embarrassment! Kill me!
Mucho love to y'all!
Love,
Us ;)
